TRAINS TO REACH THE OOTY

How to reach Ooty by Train:

The "Queen of Hills" is connected to the Chennai City (Capital of Tamilnadu state) by a train at night hours. The train called as Nilgiris Express or Blue Mountain Express which leaves from Chennai at night, and reaches Mettupalayam a small town at the foothills of the Nilgiris early the next morning around 6.30am. The train The Nilgiri Mountain Railway (Toy Train) leaves Mettupalayam at7.10am.

The Nilgiri express leaves Chennai at night and reaches Coimbatore in the morning. Mettepalyam is the last stop. To view the magnificent sights of the hillsides covered with forests, you should travel by train. The Nilgiri passenger, popularly known as the toy train takes you to Ooty from Mettepalyam.

Ooty- Coonoor :  09.30 a.m. / 02.55 p.m. / 06.00 p.m.
Coonoor - Ooty :  08.00 a.m. / 11.00 a.m. / 03.00 p.m.
